Senior Structural Engineer with 10+ years of existing building experience is sought to conduct field investigations, perform structural analysis and design, interact with clients, and collaborate with design and construction professionals. The successful candidate will work on challenging projects involving steel, concrete, timber and masonry, including historical restoration and renovation of existing buildings.

• Complete feasibility studies by studying project concepts, objectives, priorities, and requirements; conduct site investigations; identify and establish performance standards; prepare construction documents and submittals.
• Organize structural engineering design projects by identifying short‑term and long‑range issues; prepare timetables, cost estimates, and required resources.
• Verify and support construction by performing compliance inspections and tests; resolve construction problems related to structural design; coordinate and confer with construction and production contractors.
• Document structural design and maintenance by recording design features and maintenance requirements, and warnings; detail safety requirements.
• Direct contractors and testing companies during investigative test phases.
• Determine appropriate solutions within budgetary constraints.
• Develop comprehensive plans, details and specifications for bidding (understanding of MA Public Bidding Laws required).
• Oversee bidding process (both public and private).
• Provide construction administration, including field/site visits and problem solving during construction.
• Perform project manager responsibilities including monthly billing review, approval/disapproval of vendor invoices, budget, schedule, resource and job cost monitoring.
• Work in conjunction with other Project Managers and staff to assist with unique structural‑related issues.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Minimum BS in Civil/Structural Engineering and professional registration required. Experience with AutoCAD and computer‑aided analysis/design of structures is required.

Strong oral and written communication skills also required.

Full‑time

Salary: $125k-$145k. SOCOTEC offers generous compensation packages including salary, benefits, and bonus based upon relevant experience.
