The world needs innovators and problem solvers who turn challenges into greater opportunities, especially on tunneling projects. By joining us as a Lead Tunnel Engineer you'll work on planning, design and construction of tunnels and other underground structures. This opportunity can work out of most of our East Coast locations in our hybrid working environment. You'll be responsible for:

- Leading feasibility studies, preliminary design or detailed design for the tunnel discipline of major underground projects, including geotechnical analysis of underground structures and providing engineering support during construction.

- Serving in a design management role for underground projects and providing support to teams across the US as required.

- Supporting national pursuits through the provision of technical input on tunneling and underground structures.

- Managing and developing client relationships.

- To quickly establish a network within Jacobs global tunnel and ground engineering team to be able to leverage Jacobs resources to deliver projects.

- To exhibit a high degree of oral and written communication skills and participate in interviews and presentations as required.

-    Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, post graduate degree is preferred

-    Professional Engineering (PE) license

-    At least 15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering including a significant component of direct relevant experience of design and management of deep excavations and underground structures.

-    Demonstrable project management or design management experience for major underground projects in the transportation and/or water markets.

-    Familiarity with design and construction of tunnels and caverns by TBM, drill and blast and SEM / NATM methods.

-    Familiarity with design and construction of other underground structures including shafts and cut and cover structures.

-    Ability to lead teams in underground structure design and analysis.

-    Excellent analytical and technical writing skills.

-    Strong verbal and written communication skills.
