Mechatronics Engineer CO-OP

Overview

At Revvity, we are taking the next steps to evolve the traditional manufacturing engineering role. Our business is driving rapid improvements through line design, automation, materials management and NPI development. This internship role will provide support to the engineering team and assist with problem solving, lab layout, construction, production support, shipping and distribution. The candidate will gain hands‑on experience, team skills, layout skills combined with improving their overall engineering skills being mentored by seasoned engineers with varying backgrounds.

• Assisting the daily tasks of supporting chemistry labs, facilities, shipping, distribution, packaging groups within the Boston Revvity group.
• Help in programming microprocessors
• Help in designing robotic systems
• Panel wiring and documentation for automated equipment
• Construction assistance using manual and power tools (hand drills or power saws)
• Assisting basic troubleshooting of dispensing equipment
• Improving and documenting equipment, spaces and processes
• Willingness to embrace Lean techniques
• Assembling or disassembling lab structures such as hoods, storage racks or benches

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis. Further, this position requires a U.S. Person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non‑U.S. Persons. If an Export Authorization is required, the applicant must be willing to provide all information required to secure such authorization.

• CAD proficiency (AutoCAD or Solidworks)
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Experience and comfort working with power tools
• Experience with Micro Soft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

• Ability to lift 45 pounds
• Ability to work on their feet with minimal breaks for an 8‑hour day
• Reliable transportation to Boston and Hopkinton
