We’re seeking a Senior Industry Application Engineer to lead solution development and technical engagement within the hospital and university market segment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering, customer strategy, and relationship development.
You’ll partner directly with engineering teams, facilities leaders, and institutional stakeholders to understand their challenges, shape customized solutions, and guide them toward high-impact electrical, digital energy, and power system innovations. This is a strategic, customer-facing role with high visibility and significant influence.
- Serve as a proactive liaison to hospitals and universities to uncover emerging trends, operational issues, and infrastructure needs.
- Identify product gaps and recommend improvement opportunities based on customer feedback.
- Deliver clear, technical presentations tailored to engineering teams, executives, and facilities leaders.
- Develop customized solution templates and product recommendations for the healthcare and higher-education sectors.
- Recommend protection, control, monitoring, and digital system capabilities aligned to institutional priorities.
- Ensure customers are informed about new technologies, updates, and emerging capabilities.
- Map the full value chain across healthcare and university infrastructure, including general contractors, consulting engineers, electrical contractors, and key decision makers.
- Document stakeholder roles to ensure alignment with internal teams.
- Analyze competitor activity, barriers to adoption, and opportunities to increase market share.
- Understand utility interactions and troubleshoot technical challenges impacting project success.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, product, and field application teams to ensure cohesive customer support.
- Provide quarterly updates on value stream mapping, customer activity, and resource needs.
- Drive collaboration and ensure unified strategy across regional teams.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and professional associations supporting healthcare and higher education.
- Use platforms like Linked In to research key stakeholders and strengthen market visibility.
- Industry standards and codes (UL, ANSI, JCAHO)
- Digital energy systems, power systems, and electrical manufacturing solutions
- Budget cycles, capital planning, and financial considerations specific to hospitals and universities
- Familiarity with organizations such as ASHE, NEHES, and Healthcare New England Council
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
- Strong presentation capabilities, including executive-level briefings
- Ability to interpret one-line diagrams and technical specifications
- Skilled at identifying key decision makers within complex institutional structures
- Proven ability to build long-term relationships with engineering and facilities stakeholders
- Credibility and technical depth within hospital and university infrastructure
