GPI seeks a full-time co-op for our Transportation Group. This group is based in our Boston, MA, and Wilmington, MA offices. We are looking for an individual who is ready to work collectively with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers in a dynamic office environment on interesting and challenging projects. Our projects involve varying types of roadway and intersection design, urban mobility, traffic engineering, complete streets, transportation planning, structural design, multimodal trail designs, survey, construction inspection, and much more.
GPI understands our significant responsibility as engineers to provide safe, practical, and context-sensitive transportation solutions to the many communities and clients we serve.
Our co-op experience involves immersing students in the many areas of transportation engineering, providing students with the opportunity to work a variety of roadway, traffic, and/or structural design projects, as well as opportunities for construction inspection and survey depending on the individual student’s interest. This position provides an exceptional opportunity to gain experience in the many sub-disciplines of transportation engineering and to develop skills that will lead to career growth.

Responsibilities- Assisting the transportation team with the design and development of plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation projects
- Preparing reports and materials to support transportation design projects
- Candidates for a BS in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation
- AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley Micro Station experience is preferred
- Access to a vehicle to travel locally is a plus, but not required
- Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
- Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
