Microfabrication Engineer

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position for a Microfabrication Engineer, located in Boston, MA. You will work atthe Harvard Center for Nanoscale Systems (CNS) and MIT.nano facilities. Responsibilities include developing and optimizing microfabrication processes for quantum devices, operating cleanroom equipment, conducting materials characterization, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The engineer will also contribute to design processes, troubleshoot issues, and document results to drive product innovation in quantum photonics.

• PhD. degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with microfabrication processes, such as photolithography, etching, thin-film deposition, and wafer bonding.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in experimental and fabrication processes.
• Capacity to collaborate and communicate effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
• Understanding of photonic devices and basic optical characterization
• Authorized to work in the United States

• Experience with III–V semiconductor processing
• Background in quantum dots or single-photon emitters
• Working knowledge of quantum information or quantum optics fundamentals
• Experience with optical or cryogenic characterization of quantum devices
