Job Description

Shield AI is redefining autonomous aviation with cutting‑edge AI and GPS/RF‑denied navigation technologies. We’re building a next‑generation aircraft that pushes the boundaries of innovation and performance.

• Design complex electro‑mechanical solutions for avionics packaging, electrical interconnects, thermal management, and aircraft integration.
• Perform structural and collaborate on thermal/modal analyses for avionics to ensure survivability in harsh environments.
• Ensure avionics meet performance, safety, environmental, and EMI/EMC compliance standards, including DO‑160, DO‑254, DO‑178C, MIL‑STD‑810, and MIL‑STD‑461.
• Own your design work from concept to implementation, through system verification and validation.

• B.S. and/or M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience with CAD software (NX, Solid Works, CATIA, or similar) for 3D modeling, drawing creation, and system layout.
• Familiarity with eCAD software (Altium, Cadence, Allegro) and harness design software (Capital, Zuken).
• Exposure to working with electrical engineers to define PCB constraints, develop circuit cards, and care for all mechanical interfaces.
• Familiarity with the PCB layout process and manufacturing methods.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), thermal analysis, and fatigue/lifecycle testing.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, agile development environment with evolving priorities.

Salary range: $76,000 – $110,000 per year.

Location:

Los Angeles (LA), USA.

• Full‑time regular employee offer package: pay within range listed + bonus + benefits + equity.
• Temporary employee offer package: pay within range listed above + temporary benefits package (applicable after 60 days of employment).
