A well-funded, deep tech venture is seeking a Experimental Physicist to lead characterization and validation of an emerging computing architecture. This role sits at the intersection of fundamental physics and next-generation hardware development.

You will design the measurement frameworks needed to bridge theoretical models and physical hardware, working closely with an interdisciplinary engineering team.

• Design and execute high-precision experiments to characterize microelectronic devices, including I-V, noise, and high-frequency response
• Apply advanced signal processing (FFT, statistical analysis, stochastic modeling) to extract insights from complex physical systems
• Lead laboratory instrumentation using SMUs, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers, including in temperature-controlled environments
• Develop Python-based automation and custom measurement setups for data acquisition
• Collaborate with IC designers to correlate experimental results with simulation data

• Deep understanding of semiconductor physics, device characterization, and mesoscopic phenomena
• Strong proficiency in signal processing, stochastic processes, and physical modeling
• Hands‑on experience with probe stations, high-speed sampling, and custom instrumentation builds
• PhD or equivalent in Physics, Applied Physics, or Electrical Engineering (experimental focus)
• Interest in non-linear dynamics or analog hardware systems

• Experience with unconventional or post-CMOS computing paradigms
• Familiarity with CMOS fabrication or advanced device characterization
• ML experience applied to experimental datasets
