Operations Engineer, GES NA Ops Engineering

Global Engineering Services (GES) North America (NA) Operations Engineering (Ops Eng) is searching for an innovative and solutions‑oriented Operations Engineer to root cause, solve, and scale systemic engineering challenges in First and Middle Mile Operations. You will collaborate with internal and external teams to develop, monitor and innovate cost‑effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems.
Key job responsibilities- Coordinate efforts to develop optimal solutions and processes for the sortation and transportation network through process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high‑quality, cost‑effective solutions in very short periods of time.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
- Effectively communicate skills, execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions.
- Travel 50 – 70 % regionally.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 4+ years of industrial engineer / operations engineer / manufacturing engineer / project engineer experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL.
- Experience working with and managing third‑party vendors.
- Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
- Experience developing and implementing standards, policies, and programs.
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and high‑speed manufacturing systems.
- Master’s degree or above in engineering or equivalent STEM field.
- Experience working with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with OEM requirements.
- Experience working with customers, technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
- Experience in capital project management involving ownership/management of engineering design projects.
- Experience working directly with engineering teams.
- Experience with design‑in‑safety.
