Job Description
AECOM's Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture. AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to be based in our Boston, MA office. This position will perform site visits to observe and report on construction activities and address field questions as well as coordinate design and construction issues.
* Serve as the primary technical authority and advisor for assigned project teams, providing expert guidance on complex structural engineering challenges
* Deliver specialized technical expertise and rigorous analysis to inform all phases of project studies and design within the discipline
* Establish and implement comprehensive study and design protocols that ensure the highest standards of quality and cost-effectiveness across all deliverables
* Conduct thorough interdisciplinary reviews of all project deliverables to maintain technical integrity and compliance with project requirements
* Develop precise construction cost estimates and technical effort projections with accountability for accuracy and feasibility
* Execute all critical components of the Plans, Specifications & Estimates (PS&E) package with meticulous attention to detail and regulatory compliance
* Perform rigorous quality control reviews of all design calculations and technical drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to engineering standards
* Author comprehensive technical specification sections that clearly define requirements and performance criteria
* Contribute to the development of engineering budgets and schedules, ensuring alignment with project scope and delivery timelines
* Conduct site visits to observe construction activities, identify field issues, and provide authoritative technical direction to resolve design and construction conflicts
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
* BS in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering or related discipline plus six (6) year of relevant experience in structural design of buildings and transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education
* Must have either ETABS or SAP, Revit, and Microsoft Excel experience to qualify for this position
* U.S. Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications :
* PE License in the state of Massachusetts
* Specific software experience in ETABS or SAP, RAM Structural, AutoCAD, SAFE, TEDDS, SAP
2000, MathCAD, Specs Intact, sp Column, spBeam, spWall, Enercalc
* Masters in Structural Engineering
