Project Controls Specialist – Boston, MA

Arcadis is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support our team in Boston. The role focuses on schedule development and cost estimating for bridge and/or transit infrastructure projects, ensuring robust project planning, monitoring, and control to deliver on time and on budget.

• Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Create look‑ahead schedules, baseline updates, and recovery plans.
• Perform critical path analysis, time‑impact analyses (TIA), and delay matrix analyses.
• Lead progress reporting, schedule variance analysis, and performance monitoring against baseline.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs, apply unit rates, and prepare cost estimates aligned with bridge/transit scope.
• Manage cost forecasts, budget vs. actuals, cash flow and Earned Value Management (EVM) analyses.
• Assist in bid preparation, develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), cost coding, and change order documentation.
• Align schedules and estimates across engineering, procurement, and construction teams; integrate multidisciplinary inputs.
• Facilitate communication and coordination—serving as a liaison among PMs, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Support risk analysis, scenario planning, and cash flow forecasting.
• Maintain change control logs, schedule/control registers, and participate in claims or dispute resolution if needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience on bridge or transit infrastructure, heavy civil, or similar complex projects.
• Hands‑on experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project; other scheduling and estimating software experience is strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with estimating practices and software.
• Strong analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and manage dynamic project challenges.

Salary range for this position is $90,000 – $130,000. Actual salaries will vary based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
