Location: Norwood, MA manufacturing and production facility
Schedule: Primarily 1st Shift hours. Must be accessible for 24/7 requirements.
Salary Range: $130,000 - $155,000 per year + annual bonus up to 12.5%
The Manager, Maintenance Reliability & Scheduling is responsible for leading the maintenance organization to ensure safe, reliable, and cost‑effective operation of plant equipment and facilities. The role focuses on maximizing asset reliability, minimizing unplanned downtime, improving maintenance processes, planning/scheduling, and developing a proactive, data‑driven reliability culture.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead, coach, and develop maintenance supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
- Establish performance expectations and hold team accountable for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Promote a strong safety and food safety culture; ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and execute reliability strategies to improve equipment uptime and lifecycle performance.
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and/or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on major breakdowns and chronic issues.
- Drive implementation of Predictive, Preventive, and Condition‑Based Maintenance programs.
- Track and improve KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, OEE, and maintenance cost per unit.
- Ensure effective maintenance planning and scheduling processes are in place.
- Balance reactive, preventive, and improvement work to reduce emergency repairs.
- Partner with Production Planning and Operations to optimize downtime scheduling.
- Own and maintain CMMS data integrity, reporting, and system utilization (experience with Megamation/D365 a plus).
- Analyze maintenance data to improve planning accuracy, scheduling efficiency, and asset reliability.
- Track and drive PM completion rates, targeting 100% monthly completion.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, TPM, or similar methodologies.
- Standardize maintenance procedures, PMs, and best practices.
- Support development of preventive maintenance best practices.
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and commissioning activities.
- Develop and manage the maintenance and reliability budget spend.
- Control maintenance costs while improving asset performance.
- Coordinate with inventory/parts teams to ensure availability of materials for scheduled work.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, EHS, Food Safety, and corporate teams on maintenance initiatives and projects.
- Communicate equipment health, risks, and improvement plans to leadership.
- Coordinate with external vendors for inspections, calibrations, and contracted services.
- Support reporting and KPI tracking to provide data‑driven insights to leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (preferred).
- 7–10+ years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- 3+ years in a maintenance or reliability leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience in a regulated food manufacturing environment – USDA preferred.
- Experience with CMMS/EAM systems.
- Familiarity with RCFA, FMEA, Predictive Maintenance tools, and asset management practices.
- Understanding of OSHA, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Must be able to sit / stand for prolonged periods at a desk and on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to fifteen pounds.
- Must be able to travel 10% of the time and work nights & weekends.
- Must wear personal protection equipment (PPE) while on the production floor.
