Job Description
WSP is one of the globe's leading engineering firms, helping New England clients and communities improve their infrastructure while developing professional careers in construction management and inspection. We are looking for a Resident Engineer to oversee the $900 million Terminal E Garage and Roadways project at Logan Airport. This position will be based out of Boston, Chelmsford, or Worcester, Massachusetts, and assigned full‑time to the project location.
The Resident Engineer will manage and oversee work elements including excavation, back filling, compaction, cast‑in‑place concrete, drilled shafts, drainage, underground utilities, sewer, and maintenance of traffic.
The Resident Engineer will report to the Chief Resident Engineer, may act as their representative, and is anticipated to work a night‑shift assignment with periodic weekend coverage.
Your Impact- Review, interpret, and validate construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Review technical submittals and shop drawings for general intent and compliance.
- Oversee work to ensure conformance to plans and specifications.
- Anticipate and resolve design and construction issues.
- Interface daily with construction managers, subcontractors, and project owners.
- Attend daily meetings with project owners and construction managers.
- Complete daily reports, measure, calculate, and track unit price quantities.
- Monitor maintenance of traffic for compliance.
- Take and compile photographs to track daily progress.
- Coordinate on‑call material technicians or surveyors.
- Assist with review of Construction Manager and Subcontractor pay requisition process.
- Help generate potential change orders, evaluating merit and content.
- Review red‑line drawings using Bluebeam.
- Prepare and update punch lists.
- Be available to start early or stay late to cover construction activities.
- Be available to work Saturdays and odd hours when requested.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct in accordance with WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- At least 11 years of applicable experience, including 4 years supervising staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; average proficiency with the MS Word Suite.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Associate of Science Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field; a Bachelor of Science degree in the same area also acceptable.
- ACI or NETTCP certifications, or the ability to attain them within three months of hiring.
- Hands‑on experience with construction management software such as PMWeb, Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, or similar systems. Knowledge of Bluebeam is desirable.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills.
- Any combination of college education, professional licenses, certifications, and experience will be considered.

Expected Salary: $78,200 – $136,730.
