About the Role
Pipeline Engineer in Salt Lake City, UT, 12‑month contract. Responsible for design of high‑pressure steel natural gas pipelines for the Feeder‑Line Replacement program, ensuring analysis, installation, commissioning, operability and integrity regulatory requirements and company standards are met or exceeded, including Code of Federal Regulations Part 192.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical and design support for pipeline routing and layout, determining block and tap valve placement, and designing pipeline crossings for rivers, interstates and highways using open dig or trenchless methods.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards and best practices, and perform engineering analyses of pipeline stress (internal pressure, external loads, thermal expansion, soil loads, seismic effects, etc.).
- Specify pipe materials and coatings, procure materials, prepare and submit engineering documentation (calculations, forms, checklists).
- Track project schedules, monitor budgets, develop pressure test procedures and support commissioning activities.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including design drafting, right‑of‑way agents, cathodic protection engineers and environmental specialists.
- Report to a supervisor or manager.
A bachelor's degree in mechanical or civil engineering and 4–7 years of relevant experience. Understanding of high‑pressure steel pipeline materials and construction practices. Strong computer skills, including MS Office, communication tools, and engineering analysis software.

Base salary range: $50.00 – $65.00 per hour (dependent on experience, qualifications and skills).
