Position: Capital Projects & Infrastructure Senior Consultant (Transportation)

What You Will Do
  • Guide the Capital Projects & Infrastructure team by applying technical expertise to transportation and transit capital programs (rail, BRT/LRT, facilities/stations, guideway, roadway, bridge, other transportation infrastructure).
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the capital project lifecycle from planning through maintenance and operations, and prove success as an individual contributor.
  • Lead or support project governance, including organizational and process aspects such as boards/committees, interagency coordination, and stakeholder engagement common to DOT/transit programs.
  • Manage risk through risk registers, quantitative (probabilistic) risk modeling, root‑cause analysis, issue management, prudency reviews, including service impacts, permitting/ROW/utility risks, and systems integration risks.
  • Oversee construction project management and controls: schedule control, cost control (budget, accruals, forecasts), earned value, change management, work windows, safety in operating environments, complex interfaces.
  • Apply complex schedule analytics (critical path method, float, schedule compression/time‑cost trade‑off, change impacts, staged construction, outage planning).
  • Develop and manage contracts: procurement processes, administration, scope control.
  • Produce performance metrics and project reporting dashboards aligned to capital delivery and operational readiness.
  • Utilize project technology (PMIS, scheduling toolsets) to quantify cause and effect of delays.
  • Develop road‑mapping and strategic plans for key business leaders to inform investment decisions.
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience leading client relationships and/or project teams.
  • Experience with federal, state, local procurement regulations and public‑sector procurement common to DOT/transit agencies.
  • Engineering or technical expertise in project controls, project‑management technology, capital infrastructure, preferably within transportation/transit capital programs.
  • Drafting formal communications to clients, including board‑ready or stakeholder‑facing materials.
  • No employment restrictions that would prevent performing the described job responsibilities.
  • US citizenship restrictions may apply; no sponsorship available.
What Would Be Nice to Have
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MPP, MPA, etc.).
  • Professional certifications: PMP, AICP, EIT, or PE.
  • Experience with federal grant funding environments and transportation funding programs (FTA, FHWA, USDOT) and associated compliance such as grant administration and reporting.
  • PMIS deployment management across multiple industries, including transportation/transit capital delivery organizations.
  • Experience with industry‑leading capital planning and program/project management technologies such as Primavera P6, Aurigo Masterworks, Kahua.
