Plumbing And Fire Protection Engineer
Develop, design and plan initial plumbing and fire protection system concepts and project specifications
Prepare calculations, reports
Perform fire suppression system selection, preliminary designs, and performance specifications
Consult on areas such as preparation of existing facility diligence, sustainability analyses, and feasibility reports
Producing drawings consistent with client requirements and standards
Ensure designs comply with company standards and procedures
Review QA/QC drawings for the PFP team
Attend client meetings with Project Managers
Participate in Inter-Departmental Project Management Meetings
Mentor junior plumbing/fire protection engineers and designers
Advanced communication, time management, and attention to detail skills
Ability to quickly build effective working relationships
Capable of managing high pressure, deadline driven situations and dealing with changes
Engineering degree from an accredited college or university
Strong technical skills. AutoCAD and/or Revit experience
5+ years relevant industry experience
Knowledge of the various applications of fire suppression systems, Mechanical / Plumbing trades, building codes, and drawings / documents
Knowledge of equipment from various manufacturers and the ability to make proper selections independently
Ability to independently perform fire suppression hydraulic calculations to support design and estimate construction costs and evaluate feasibility of construction
