Job Description
We are looking for a strong Project Manager to oversee our Civil/Structural Rail/Transit projects for the Northeast region. This team focuses on design and construction of Rail/Transit stations and facilities, Bus Facilities, Track Design, Airtrain projects, Elevated guideways, Rail Bridges, and other civil/structural components related to transit, primarily in New York/New Jersey and Boston, while also supporting teams nationwide.
Responsibilities- Overall managerial and technical direction of major engineering projects and design pursuits within the Rail Transit Sector, serving in either Project Manager or Design Manager roles.
- Develop discipline staffing budget estimates and staffing assignment schedules on each project; generate and manage staff forecasting reports.
- Ensure project performance within schedules and budgets and monitor quality and progress of the discipline.
- Provide technical direction and guidance to engineering teams, including setting priorities and schedules.
- Review and approve top-level technical designs and documentation to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Establish standards and procedures manuals for major projects, recommending improvements to established procedures.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with the position as may be appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural Engineering (or related field).
- 8–10+ years of experience in rail or transit work, including design management and capture management. Experience with NY/NJ and/or Boston area transit clients preferred.
- Experience in facilities and station design is preferred.
- Design‑Build project experience as Design Manager, Deputy Design Manager or Discipline Lead preferred.
- PE license (Professional Engineer) required with active membership in a professional engineering society.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
