Your new roleAs our new Air Quality Managing Consultant, you will be part of Ramboll's Air Sciences Group, part of the Environment & Health Division. The group consults with clients across industries on topics such as air permitting, emissions estimation, regulatory enforcement matters and compliance, air dispersion modeling, human health risk assessment, climate change, climate action planning, climate adaptation/resiliency, and sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting these topics within the Chemical and/or Pharmaceutical sectors.
Yourkey responsibilities will include:
- Preparing air quality permit applications
- Conducting air permitting/compliance regulatory reviews
- Managing projects and serving as the technical lead overseeing and training Consultant and Senior Consultant level staff on complex projects
- Managing client relationships and the development of deliverables to meet client needs efficiently
- Critically reviewing and interpreting local, state, and federal environmental regulations, permitting, compiling, and drafting regulatory applicability determinations, and communicating findings to co‑workers, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Conducting site visits
- Maintaining regular contact with clients and developing proposals for environmental compliance related work
- Responsible for the preparation of plans, reports, permit applications and other project documents; lead technical evaluations of data commensurate with experience
- Managing the technical, schedule and budgetary elements of projects
The following qualifications and experience are required:
- 7+ years of related experience, largely in air quality permitting and compliance, with a focus in the chemical and/or pharmaceutical sector
- History managing consulting assignments in a consulting environment
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering preferred. B.S. or M.S. in a related field, such as Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering or other relevant science/engineering discipline, are also preferred for a candidate with direct working experience in the Chemical or Pharmaceutical sectors.
- Ability to externally manage client and regulatory agency relationships and internally manage staff and competing project priorities
- Ability to train and utilize junior consulting staff, and experience leading a team on projects

At Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $116,000 - $158,000 per year, reflecting the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well‑being, professional development, and work‑life balance.
