Overview
You will serve as a Wireless Telecommunications Project Lead, collaborating with clients in the Data Center market and leading design for systems such as Commercial DAS, Public Safety DAS, LMR, Site Radio, RoIP, Wi‑Fi, and Tower Studies.
LocationUnited States (any location, preference for proximity to a Jacobs U.S. office).
Responsibilities- Design wireless systems using iBwave and EDX.
- Coordinate with BIM designers to produce drawing packages.
- Engage with AHJs, radio system owners, and carriers for specifications.
- Create or modify DIV 27 specifications.
- Conduct site visits and review technical documents.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience designing wireless telecommunications systems, including:
- LMR 2‑way radio (outdoor LMR, site radio, RoIP)
- Public Safety DAS
- Commercial DAS (OTA, neutral host, DRAN)
- Proficiency with iBwave, EDX, Atoll, or LMR Planner.
- Experience working with clients to identify wireless communications needs.
- Familiarity troubleshooting wireless system issues from field teams.
- Understanding of Noise Floor, SNIR, Return Loss, and VSWR.
- Optimizing networks during design and installation.
- Knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 1221, NFPA 1225, IFC section 510, carrier KPIs, IBC, FCC Part 20 and 90, and FCC OET bulletin 65.
- Experience with MOTOTRBO and DMR Tier III systems.
- Familiarity with Navisworks.
- Strong project management skills and budget creation.
- Ability to create and maintain project schedules.
- Experience identifying and mitigating company risk.
- iBwave Level 2 certification (required).
- Design experience for Wi‑Fi systems.
- EDX or Motorola design certifications.
- FCC GROL certification.
- NICET Design certification.
- Multiple OEM product certifications.
- Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering degree.
- EIT or PE license.
Base salary range: $90,000 to $125,000 (location and experience dependent). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, 401(k), company stock purchase, deferred compensation options, unlimited U.S. PPTO, seven paid holidays, and caregiver leave.
