Rotordynamics Engineer Intern Job Boston area,Massachusetts USA,Engineering

We are currently looking for highly motivated engineering students with a MS, at a fast paced, internationally growing organization with a start-up culture. In this role, you will participate in a wide range of real-world consulting projects including the design, analysis, and optimization of turbo machinery components. This position starts as a paid training internship is for a 6-month period, full-time (40 hours per week).

Trainee may be offered a permanent position based on performance evaluations made upon completion of the internship period.

Responsibilities:

Support global team on all steps of the rotor-bearing systems design and dynamics analysis activities
Participate in projects which include rotor dynamics analyses and simulations for different types of bearings, such as oil film, gas foil, hydrodynamic/hydrostatic, journal/thrust, rolling element
Develop test cases and perform validation on rotor dynamics studies using in-house software AxSTREAM Rotor dynamics and AxSTREAM Bearing for design, analysis and optimization for variety of machines: turbines, compressors, pumps, turbopumps, electric machines, etc.
Write technical publications based on internal results and improve existing documents
Participate at conferences and trade shows and animate technical webinars
Develop and deliver software demonstrations to prospect and current clients

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related science
Recent graduates with GPA> 3.3 or higher
Strong theoretical background in dynamics of rotating machines, bearings characteristics simulation, rotor-bearing systems design and vibration analysis
Specific knowledge of methods and technologies related to rotor dynamics analyses
Ability to pay attention to details and strong organization skills

Preferred Qualifications:

In Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related science
Competence in industrial standards for rotor dynamics such as API Standards, knowledge of standard procedures and acceptance criteria
