Senior Electrical Engineer - Healthcare / Mission Critical / Life Sciences | Boston
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead the electrical design on dedicated projects and take part in coordination meetings across the project team. You will work closely with junior staff, providing guidance and technical review of their work, and contribute to project budgeting and scheduling.
Working Set up:
Hybrid - 3 days in office
Project Type:
Mission Critical, Healthcare and Life Sciences
- Lead design and development of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for healthcare, mission critical, and life science facilities
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and field surveys to support design and construction phases
- Oversee preparation of construction documents, including drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams and load calculations
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architectural, mechanical, plumbing, structural and other team members
- Lead review of submittals and RFIs during construction administration
- Serve as Project Engineer and Project Manager on complex, high-stakes projects
- Mentor and review the work of junior engineers
- Use engineering and design computer software to complete assigned work (i.e. Autodesk Revit MEP & AutoCAD)
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant electrical design experience, with direct project experience in healthcare, mission critical/data centers, or life sciences
- Strong working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IEEE)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and lead junior staff with minimal oversight from senior leadership
- Experience with sustainable design and LEED-certified projects
- Self-motivated with the ability to multitask across multiple concurrent project deadlines
- PE or EIT with pursuit of PE license
