Civil Engineer

Job Role s and Responsibilities

Prepare civil engineering design documents including site plans, grading, drainage, utility layouts, and erosion control plans.

Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and due diligence evaluations.

Coordinate permitting with local, state, and regulatory agencies.

Prepare stormwater management reports and drainage calculations.

Coordinate with architects, surveyors, geotechnical engineers, and utility providers.

Provide construction administration support, including RFIs, shop drawing reviews, and site observations.

Manage project schedules, deliverables, budgets, and client communications.

Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and local regulations.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and EIT staff.

Support project delivery from planning through construction completion.

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Minimum 5+ years of progressive civil engineering experience in site or land development.

Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Strong knowledge of stormwater management regulations and permitting.

Experience preparing permit-ready construction drawings.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with construction administration.

MassDOT project experience.

GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS).

Hydrology/Hydraulic modeling (HydroCAD, HEC-RAS).

LEED Accreditation.

PE licensure in additional states.
