Electrical Engineer (Commercial, Retail and Residential Design)
OverviewWe are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer with 0–3 years of experience to join a growing engineering team in the Boston area. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of building projects while developing technical expertise and client‑facing skills.
The ideal candidate is on the path toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure and is eager to take on increasing responsibility in both design and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop electrical systems for commercial, institutional, and/or residential building projects
- Perform engineering calculations, load analysis, and equipment selection
- Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including drawings and specifications (AutoCAD/Revit)
- Interpret and apply applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations
- Collaborate with internal teams (mechanical, plumbing, structural) to deliver coordinated designs
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to technical discussions
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle
- Support construction administration activities, including site visits and field observations
- Contribute to energy‑efficient and sustainable design solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 1–4 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within an MEP or building systems environment
- EIT certification or actively working toward PE licensure (PE not required)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Working knowledge of NEC and other relevant codes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and project teams
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
- Direct exposure to clients early in your career
- Clear path toward PE licensure and professional growth
- Hands‑on involvement across the full project lifecycle
- Collaborative, team‑oriented environment within a well‑established MEP firm
