Senior Mechanical Engineer - Healthcare / Mission Critical / Life Sciences | Boston

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design on dedicated projects and take part in coordination meetings across the project team. You will work closely with junior staff, providing guidance and technical review of their work, and contribute to project budgeting and scheduling.

Working Set up:
Hybrid - 3 days in office

Project Type:
Mission Critical, Healthcare and Life Sciences

Responsibilities
  • Lead design and development of mechanical systems including HVAC, piping, plumbing, and process systems for healthcare, mission critical, and life science facilities
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and field surveys to support design and construction phases
  • Oversee preparation of construction documents, including drawings, specifications, equipment schedules and load calculations
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architectural, electrical, plumbing, structural and other team members
  • Lead review of submittals and RFIs during construction administration
  • Serve as Project Engineer and Project Manager on complex, high-stakes projects
  • Mentor and review the work of junior engineers
  • Use engineering and design computer software to complete assigned work (i.e. Autodesk Revit MEP & AutoCAD)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ years of relevant mechanical design experience, with direct project experience in healthcare, mission critical/data centers, or life sciences
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IMC)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical design/load calculation software
  • PE license preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
