Job Description

WSP is currently searching for a full‑time Production Lead/BIM Technical Resource Specialist to support CADD/Production/Revit Lighting and Electrical solutions within the National Transportation Lighting Systems group. The role is available at our Boston‑MA, Minneapolis‑MN, and Denver‑CO offices.

Primary responsibilities include advancing our 2D/3D AutoCAD, Micro Station, and BIM framework, ensuring consistency across project types, creating and implementing staff development training, and promoting efficient use of BIM/Revit on all projects.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all design production activities from preliminary design through handover to the client, including document production planning, workflow development, and coordination while maintaining project budgets and schedules.
  • Maintain close contact with lead engineers, clients, engineering sub‑contractors, and project management team members.
  • Manage the QA process for all design document submittals, ensuring uniformity and technical presentation.
  • Oversee all group deliverables.
  • Develop, document and communicate best practices for BIM/Revit technologies, including model management and coordination across disciplines.
  • Set up models to comply with project standards, office standards, and best practices.
  • Manage Revit standards, family content, and office templates.
  • Engage with project teams to strategize and maintain effective BIM/Revit strategies, including model sharing and coordination.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for beginners and continuing education for users of all levels.
  • Perform lighting design, applying standard techniques and procedures:
    • Assist in preparing design criteria documents, calculations, drawings, and specifications for lighting.
    • Assist in developing cost estimates, including performing quantity take‑offs.
    • Provide support during construction activities, including site visits to confirm field conditions.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of 5 years of post‑education experience in Revit production, administration, or support on projects and 7 years in the AEC industry, preferably in an MEP+L office.
  • Completion of relevant courses in AutoCAD, Revit, and building systems.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of professional MEP+L services from master planning and schematic design through construction documents and administration.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Micro Station, and Revit.
  • Expert knowledge in Revit Family creation.
  • Proficiency in Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and rendering software preferred.
  • Experience with Navisworks and its relation to Revit models.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; highly organized.
  • Self‑motivated, flexible, and able to prioritize; team‑player capable of working independently or as part of a larger group.
  • Proven track record of workplace safety and compliance with WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules required by project‑specific needs, which may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project‑specific requirements.
  • Authorization to work in the United States at the start of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Design experience in lighting design and construction activity support, preferably in vehicular tunnels, rail tunnels, transit, aviation, industrial, commercial, ports and marine, or roadway facilities.
  • Associate’s Degree in a closely related discipline.
  • Essential professional licensure or certification.

Compensation

Expected hourly rate (all locations): $28.13 – $44.06 per hour. The company reserves the right to offer more or less than the posted range based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
