Building Envelope Project Engineer

Your Role

Project Engineer to join our Northeast Building Envelope team. This role focuses on investigating and remediating existing buildings—including exterior restoration, preservation design, and forensic analyses—as well as the design and construction administration of new facades, roofing, and waterproofing systems. Projects span cultural institutions, higher education facilities, healthcare facilities, vintage high‑rises, and adaptive reuse of buildings. Experience with historic and modern glazing systems is desired.

The candidate should be conscientious, creative, detail‑oriented, and professional in client communications.

• Manage building envelope consulting projects and work directly with clients.
• Conduct condition assessments, develop material testing programs, write reports, create repair design strategies, design narratives, basis‑of‑design reports, and prepare and review design drawings and specifications. Provide construction phase services.
• Coordinate with design architects, structural engineers, conservators, testing labs, owners, owner representatives, and contractors.
• Collaborate in‑house across diverse disciplines—protective design, façade engineering, structural design, sustainability—as well as TT offices across the US and Canada.
• Interpret building codes and project/design/construction specifications.
• Facilitate clear communications and guidance among team leaders, promoting professional relationships internally and externally.

• Bachelor of Architecture or Engineering. Master’s Degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience.
• Professional licensure is preferred.
• Direct knowledge of building envelope systems, including roofing and waterproofing, glazing assemblies, and claddings.
• Experience with assessments, CD’s, and construction phase services in the field and office. Knowledge of conservation or preservation techniques is preferred.
• Ability to travel to job sites in Maine, New Hampshire, northern Massachusetts and the greater Northeast.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Sketch Up, Rhino/Grasshopper, THERM, WUFI is preferred.

The rate for this position is $98,000–$113,000 annually, based on Massachusetts Equal Pay transparency provisions. Pay may vary by location and other factors.
