We are seeking an Overhead Transmission Line Engineer to join our Energy and Power team in Boston, MA;
Cary, NC;
Chicago, IL;
Denver, CO; or Ft. Worth, TX.
The energy industry is undergoing rapid and dramatic changes, transforming the utility landscape to enhance safety, reliability and sustainability. In response, Jacobs is expanding its Transmission & Distribution (T&D) operations In North America and is looking for an Entry Level Overhead Transmission Line Engineer in its Energy & Power Group to tackle the complexities of decarbonization and utility modernization to deliver a cleaner and more secure energy future.
As an Overhead Transmission Line Engineer, you will be working closely with our regional and global Transmission & Distribution (T&D) delivery teams to support our utility/developer clients and operations teams as we expand our energy transition portfolio. You will play a key role in development of design deliverables for utility upgrades including greenfield/brownfield projects, and developer interconnection facilities. Prior internship experience designing utility transmission and distribution systems will be highly regarded.
The successful candidate shall demonstrate excellent communication and technical writing skills paired with technical knowledge in overhead transmission line design. It is important that you are a team player with exceptional interpersonal skills as you will be responsible for understanding the client standards and design guidelines to prepare project deliverables under the direction of the project lead.

Here's what you'll need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Ability to perform field visits and walk-downs as required for client projects and providing engineering support for clients through the construction.
- Experience with Microsoft suite applications and Auto CAD, and structural design software
Ideally you will also have:
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
- Familiarity with structure design and foundation design fundamentals
- 1 - 2 years relevant professional experience
- 1
-2 years of Overhead Transmission Line Engineering design experience with a utility or consulting organization - Ability to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future
The base salary range for this position is $75,000.00 to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
