Position DescriptionThis role requires a minimum of 3 years of hands-on process engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment; this is not an entry-level position. We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, and skilled process engineer to join our dynamic team, who has extensive experience in providing technical support and driving improvements in day-to-day manufacturing. The process engineer will be the technical subject matter expert, who owns the manufacturing processes for our custom spray coating value stream, monitors all processes, leads continuous improvement, and supports new product development.
As process engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring we deliver best-in-class service for quality, on-time delivery, and overall customer satisfaction.
- Own and optimize manufacturing processes for the custom spray coating value stream, ensuring quality, safety, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with production, scheduling, maintenance, and engineering teams to support daily manufacturing operations, capacity planning, staffing, and equipment maintenance.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and equipment issues, implementing corrective actions to improve performance and reliability.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events, process mapping, value stream mapping, scrap reduction, and process optimization studies.
- Develop and maintain process controls, key performance metrics, data collection systems (SCADA/MRP), and manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and training materials.
- Drive manufacturing growth through process improvements, automation, technology integration, facility layout planning (3P), and manufacturing technology roadmaps.
- Support new product development and ensure manufacturing readiness by establishing scalable, robust production processes.
- Provide technical leadership and training while fostering a collaborative, customer-focused culture and performing other engineering duties as assigned.
- At least 3 years of process engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, ISO 13485, equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), OSHA, EHS, and quality management principles.
- Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement methodologies, and process/equipment troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with MRP systems; experience with SCADA (Ignition), Minitab, technical writing, dashboards, databases, and training development preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, capital initiatives, competing priorities, and ambiguity while delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, change management, and risk-based decision-making skills with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and train employees.
- Self-motivated, hands-on, and organized professional with strong business acumen, attention to detail, and experience using quality measurement equipment (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (BS or advanced degree and relevant certifications preferred) with at least 3 years of process engineering experience, preferably in the medical device industry.
