Facility Assessors
The Facility Assessor supports inspections, reporting, and analysis of building systems to help clients understand the condition and needs of their facilities. This position is ideal for individuals with technical knowledge of building systems who enjoy both fieldwork and analytical tasks.
Key
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assessment: Support detailed inspections of building interiors and exteriors under supervision, following established standards and practices.
- Documentation: Record findings with photographs, sketches, and notes using tablets and cameras to ensure accurate and justified condition reporting.
- Blueprints: Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to understand layouts, systems, and potential issues.
- Reporting: Assist in preparing reports and compiling structured data on facility conditions, including maintenance and repair needs.
- Systems: Apply basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems to assess performance, functionality, and defects.
- Fieldwork: Perform physical inspections that may include ladder use, confined spaces, extended walking, and exposure to various weather conditions, while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Client Interaction: Occasionally communicate with clients to clarify requirements and provide preliminary feedback, representing the company professionally.
- Learning: Stay current with new building technologies, materials, and assessment methods by attending training and workshops.
- Coordination: Support senior assessors in managing timelines and collaborating with team members to ensure timely completion of assessments.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience: 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Skills: Strong communication, organization, and time management skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort using computers.
- Performance: Ability to meet strict deadlines, work under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Analytical Ability: Strong process and analytical skills to interpret data and recommend actions.
- Software: Experience with AutoCAD or similar programs.
- Relevant Background: Education or experience in Construction Management, Facilities Management, or Building Science.
