Account Manager IV
The Account Manager IV will serve as the liaison between Amazon and Nidec's Automation, Drive Technology and Drives Business Units. The role will be based in Boston, Massachusetts and will require visiting multiple Amazon facilities. Engagement with and having a thorough understanding of all Amazon programs and Nidec products is required. The candidate for this position must have a technical background with experience.
On site customer engagement is required. Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask are important aspects to the position. Must have skills and ability to work independently within a customer location. Disciplined to be self-guided and able prioritize activities when required.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct communication from Amazon locations to Nidec. Ensure Amazon and Nidec are aligned on daily communications regarding specific programs, projects, and quality.
- Oversee delivery of Amazon engineering projects, programs, and initiatives by working directly with Amazon contacts in their locations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Amazon personnel to ensure a clear and collaborative communication link is established with Nidec.
- Collaborate with Amazon and Nidec to gain full transparency of Amazon's programs and strategy.
- Confirm engineering standards, design practices, and review processes are being utilized and communicated between Amazon and Nidec
- Communicate with and support Nidec Sales Account Managers on day-to-day activities at specific Amazon facilities in Boston area.
- Communicate with and support Nidec Engineering management and engineers on day-to-day activities at specific Amazon facilities in Boston area.
- Ensure engineering outputs meet performance, reliability, regulatory, and Amazon requirements. Work directly with Amazon and Nidec engineering teams to support these efforts
- Support development and optimization of Amazon products, processes, or systems across the lifecycle
- Provide direct communication between Amazon and Nidec engineering managers, engineers, and technical specialists who are engaged on Amazon programs and projects
- Collaborate with Nidec Product Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, EHS, and IT on all Amazon programs and projects for Boston locations
- Ensure with Amazon and Nidec engineering activities comply with safety, regulatory, and quality requirements as well as any Amazon specific requirements
- Help support and facilitate Amazon on site investigations and corrective actions for technical or quality issues on Amazon products
- Perform a regular assessment and report out on all Nidec product line and field rejects. Provide Amazon onsite review and analysis of Nidec products. Report back to Nidec entities.
- Prepare and publish weekly activities report and distribute to Nidec teams
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- Requires 3+ years of managerial experience.
- Experience in the Warehouse Automation space is a plus
- Experience with electric motors, gearing and electronic drives desired
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of quality control processes and procedures
- Knowledge of general engineering practices and procedures
- Project Management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in a customer's location
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- High integrity, accountability, and results driven
- Ability to tolerate and manage conflict situations
- Ability to build trust and reassurance in Amazon locations
Travel
- Travel is required to other Nidec locations, but primary focus will be the Boston area at Amazon locations
- 10% Travel to Nidec applicable locations
Languages
- English mandatory.
- Other languages skills are preferred but not required
