We’re currently representing an innovative energy storage technology company that is seeking a Solutions Engineer - Energy Storage to serve as the technical bridge between customers, EPC partners, installers, and internal engineering teams. This role will play a critical part in designing, deploying, and supporting Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), ensuring successful project execution from initial development through commissioning and commercial operation.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in battery energy storage, solar, power systems, UPS, switch gear, generators, or related electrical infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of commercial and industrial three-phase electrical systems.
- Experience reviewing electrical one-line diagrams, construction drawings, and system designs.
- Excellent customer-facing communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel approximately 20-30%.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license and direct BESS experience are preferred.
- Serve as the primary technical advisor for customers, EPCs, utilities, and installation partners throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support business development efforts by developing technical solutions, reviewing project requirements, and participating in customer presentations and discussions.
- Design and size Battery Energy Storage Systems based on customer load profiles, resiliency goals, utility requirements, and project economics.
- Develop system architectures, equipment layouts, one-line diagrams, and technical documentation to support project execution.
- Coordinate with EPCs, contractors, and installation partners to review drawings, provide technical guidance, and ensure successful deployment.
- Support commissioning, startup, acceptance testing, and troubleshooting activities to ensure systems are delivered safely and perform as designed.
- Assist customers with utility interconnection, permitting, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) review processes.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to improve product offerings, deployment processes, and technical standards based on customer and field feedback.
- Develop scalable engineering processes, training materials, installation guides, and best practices to support continued company growth.
- Work on cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage Systems, microgrids, and AI-powered energy management solutions.
- Collaborate with leading EPCs, utilities, commercial customers, and technology partners.
- Play a key role in advancing the clean energy transition while helping shape a growing engineering organization.
