Position: Hardware Integration Engineer (Computer Vision, Hardware/Software Systems)
Location: Greater Boston area
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 3 days onsite per week
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Position OverviewWe are seeking a Hardware Integration Engineer to support the deployment of advanced computer vision systems into industrial and manufacturing environments.
This is a hands-on application and integration role focused on cameras, optics, lighting, sensors, mechanical integration, testing, and customer deployments
. You'll work across hardware and software teams to take vision systems from the design stage through installation and successful operation in real-world production environments.
The ideal candidate has experience deploying camera, optical, or vision systems in manufacturing, industrial automation, robotics, or other production environments and enjoys solving practical hardware integration problems.
What You'll Do- Select and deploy cameras, sensors, optics, and lighting for customer production environments
- Integrate and troubleshoot vision systems based on individual production requirements
- Design and support mechanical structures for camera and hardware deployments
- Use CAD software to design hardware components and supporting structures
- Build and test hardware systems and test rigs
- Troubleshoot hardware integration issues both in the lab and at customer sites
- Support customer deployments and work with local integrators to ensure successful installation
- Evaluate custom hardware solutions and identify opportunities to create standardized, reusable systems
- Collaborate closely with software, sales, sales engineering, and solutions engineering teams
- Help develop scalable processes for hardware deployment and integration
- Hands-on experience deploying camera, optical, or computer vision systems in production or industrial environments
- Strong understanding of cameras, optics, sensors, and lighting
- Mechanical engineering background or equivalent hands-on mechanical experience
- Experience with CAD software
- Experience taking hardware systems from design through deployment and troubleshooting
- Comfortable working directly with hardware in production environments
- Strong application and systems integration mindset
- Ability to work across mechanical, electrical, and system-level considerations
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Robotics or industrial automation
- PLC programming or integration
- SCADA systems
- Manufacturing or factory-floor environments
- Developing standardized or modular hardware systems
