Senior Sustainability Engineer

A growing leader in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry is seeking a Senior Sustainability Engineer to drive environmental sustainability initiatives across multiple manufacturing and corporate locations. This individual will play a key role in developing and implementing strategies that reduce environmental impact while supporting business growth, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.

• Develop and implement sustainability initiatives that support environmental performance across multiple sites.
• Lead projects focused on energy efficiency, carbon reduction, waste minimization, and resource conservation.
• Partner with engineering, facilities, manufacturing, and EHS teams to integrate sustainability into capital projects, operational improvements, and technology implementations.
• Evaluate environmental performance by conducting carbon footprint assessments, environmental impact analyses, and sustainability reporting.
• Establish and maintain sustainability metrics, KPIs, and data collection processes to monitor progress toward organizational goals.
• Identify opportunities to improve energy consumption, utility performance, and overall environmental efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations, permits, and internal sustainability standards.
• Serve as a technical resource on sustainability initiatives and provide guidance to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support change management efforts by promoting sustainability awareness and encouraging engagement throughout the organization.
• Analyze trends, identify improvement opportunities, and develop practical solutions that balance environmental and business objectives.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, or another related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience supporting sustainability, environmental, energy, or engineering initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading sustainability or energy optimization projects across multiple facilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of carbon accounting, greenhouse gas reduction strategies, environmental reporting, or lifecycle assessments.
• Familiarity with environmental management systems such as ISO 14001, ISO 50001, or similar frameworks is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret environmental performance data.
• Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Experience with in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
