Modal Power is a Solar IPP which owns a ~2.3GW portfolio of fifteen operating projects, four under-construction projects, and three pre-NTP assets.

About the RoleWe are seeking an Analyst, Project Development to join our growing development team. This role will support the advancement of Modal Power's portfolio of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the United States. Working closely with development leaders, the Analyst will help coordinate project execution, maintain development controls, support commercial and financial analysis, and ensure projects remain on track toward Notice to Proceed (NTP).
The Analyst will serve as a central member of the Development team, helping manage schedules, budgets, risks, consultants, and project deliverables across a dynamic portfolio of renewable energy assets. The role provides broad exposure to project development, financing, commercial strategy, and asset management while developing the organizational and analytical skills required to lead projects in the future.
The Analyst will report to the Senior Director, Development & Asset Management and work closely with teammates across Development, Finance, Legal, Procurement, Engineering, Construction, Asset Management, and Brookfield Renewable.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain project schedules, risk registers, action item trackers, budgets, and reporting tools used to manage development portfolio execution.
- Coordinate internal teams and external consultants across permitting, interconnection, engineering, environmental, land, procurement, and commercial work streams.
- Track project deliverables, milestones, obligations, and critical path activities to support successful advancement toward NTP.
- Manage development data rooms, diligence requests, project documentation, permit matrices, and executive reporting materials.
- Support preparation of project business cases, financial models, valuation analyses, and investment materials for development and financing activities.
- Assist with project forecasts, budget reporting, risk assessments, and presentations for executive leadership and investment committees.
- Conduct market research and support commercial evaluations, strategic initiatives, and value creation opportunities across both development and operating assets.
- Identify process improvements and support implementation of best practices, reporting systems, and project controls across the development platform.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business, Environmental Science, Energy Systems, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in renewable energy, project development, project finance, consulting, engineering, asset management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project coordination skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project tracking tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects.
- Familiarity with project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Familiarity with financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis.
- Knowledge of permitting, interconnection, engineering, procurement, or project financing processes.
