Vertex seeks a Preformulation Co-Op to support automation initiatives in early drug formulation development.
Responsibilities- Assisting with automation workflows
- Data collection and analysis
- Documenting procedures
- Troubleshooting systems
- Collaborating with formulation and digital teams to optimize laboratory processes
- Enrolled in an undergraduate or advanced degree program in Chemical, Biomedical, Pharmaceutical, or Automation Engineering
- Strong interest in lab automation, data systems, and process improvement
- Hands-on wet-lab experience and proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, Python, JMP)
- Effective communication skills
- Full-time availability in Boston from January to July 2027
- Focus on preclinical drug candidates
- Automation in pharmaceutical sciences
- Early formulation development
- Cross-functional collaboration with scientists and technical teams
On-site Boston, full-time, paid co-op.
Preferred- Exposure to pharmaceutical preformulation, automation hardware, robotics, and data visualization tools like Power BI
The program emphasizes professional growth, industry exposure, and hands-on experience in biopharma formulation environments.
