Job Summary

We’re looking for a Security associate to protect guests, staff, and property at the Foundation Room and House of Blues. The ideal candidate will combine a disciplined security focus with the personalities and hospitality of a high‑end venue.

What This Role Will Do
  • Recognize and assist Foundation Members, Live Nation executives, and VIPs
  • Serve as a resource for all members regarding their experience in the Foundation Room and House of Blues
  • Provide assistance with reservation timing and coordination with staff (Chef, Bartender, Server)
  • Maintain contact with Manager to track arrival of members
  • Observe the Lounge area and Podium to uphold ambiance
  • Demonstrate professional grooming and adapted communication styles with the current audience
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, ensuring safety through proactive interaction and hazard removal
  • Prevent and resolve altercations among guests, lead guests and employees during emergency evacuations
  • Check identification for patrons under 30 drinking alcoholic beverages, conduct metal detection or pat‑downs to prevent weapons or harmful items
  • Enforce House policy regarding photography, video, and other recording devices
  • Safeguard against theft and property damage, maintain clean surroundings before, during, and after shifts
  • Communicate clear instructions via radios, hand signals, and flashlights; remain in contact throughout shift
  • Prepare venue for opening (set stanchions, table configuration)
  • Attend pre‑shift meetings conducted by Manager on Duty
What This Person Will Bring
  • State or County Licensee or Certification Requirement/Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work late hours
  • Minimum 3 years of experience interacting with people positively
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs with proper techniques
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of high‑end restaurant operations, seating procedures, guest relations, problem solving
  • Diplomacy, multitasking, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to diffuse volatile situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms
Preferred
  • Bi‑lingual
  • Cash handling experience
  • Experience recognizing valid ’s
  • Experience in a live music environment
  • Self‑defense training
  • VIP service experience (plus)
  • Experience using metal detection equipment
Physical Demands / Working Environment
  • Fast‑paced, often loud, and stressful environment
  • Extended periods of prolonged standing and working on feet, indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs with proper technique

Compensation
