Overview

We are hiring immediately for a full time Dispatcher position at Boston Medical Center.

Location:

840 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA 02118. Online applications accepted only.

Schedule:

Full time;
Days may vary, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm with rotating weekends. More details upon interview. Fixed Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour.

• Coordinates and monitors Patient Transportation services activities through timely, accurate dispatch and management of transportation requests.
• Provide quality customer service with attention to detail.
• Understand and apply knowledge of basic patient transport concepts, infection control practices, and proper body mechanics.
• Determine, explain, and develop dispatcher logic and transporter activities; transport patients when necessary.
• Direct the activity of the transport function and transporters to ensure timely completion of tasks; monitor availability and completion of tasks; follow up on service or operations issues.
• Ensure requests are addressed efficiently and in a timely manner according to departmental standards, priorities, and patient appointments.
• Serve as a liaison between Patient Transportation and other departments.
• Assign, collect, and distribute pagers; monitor daily sign-in/out procedures.
• Develop and promote positive customer service relationships with patients, family members, visitors, and staff. Ensure accurate, timely dispatch of transport requests and maximize staff productivity.
• Resolve problems related to patient, visitor, staff, or employee complaints; recommend solutions for ongoing issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Requirement:
  Prior call center and customer service experience is preferred.
