Overview

Are you a passionate builder with deep expertise in betting and gaming solutions and want to work with innovative companies transforming the industry? AWS is seeking a Principal Specialist Solutions Architect for Betting and Gaming to educate customers, partners, and internal stakeholders on emerging technologies and solutions that transform the betting and gaming industry. Focus areas include real-time wagering platforms, player engagement, responsible gaming, regulatory compliance, and advanced analytics.

You will work with sports betting operators, online casinos, lottery providers, fantasy sports platforms, and gaming technology vendors to help them build scalable, secure, and compliant solutions on the AWS cloud. You’ll provide hands-on architectural guidance for customer projects and collaborate with cross‑Amazon teams to develop outcome-based, holistic solutions for strategic opportunities in the industry.

In this role, you'll be a content creator, storyteller, and presenter, building and publishing content and collateral for betting and gaming customers in one‑on‑one and group settings. You'll work with customers remotely and in person, sharing your expertise and insights. This role requires travel, including international travel (at least 30%).

• As a Leader, anticipate future trends and identify applications of emerging technologies to enhance betting platforms, gaming operations, player personalization, and responsible gaming initiatives.
• Drive the strategy for betting and gaming solutions for customers across sports betting, online casino, lottery, and fantasy sports sectors.
• Architect and deliver innovative, customer-obsessed solutions leveraging AWS services and partner offerings, with focus on real-time processing, scalability, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Create high-quality enablement content, including guidance, blogs, demos, POCs, and presentations, to share expertise in betting and gaming solutions.
• Deliver written and spoken communications on complex betting platform architecture, gaming operations, player analytics, and regulatory compliance, establishing AWS as the cloud of choice for organizations in the industry.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other Solutions Architects working with betting and gaming customers.

• 8+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership, or a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of Games Industry experience (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops).
• Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS.
• 8+ years of experience with betting platforms, gaming operations, player engagement systems, and analytics in the betting and gaming industry.
• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions (e.g., UK Gambling Commission, Malta Gaming Authority, state-level US regulations).

• Experience presenting to C-level executives, IT, and business leaders across organizations.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and solutions for betting and gaming, including real-time data processing, machine learning for personalization and fraud detection, and secure payment processing.
• Broad experience across Real-Time Wagering Platforms, Player Account Management, Responsible Gaming Solutions, Odds Compilation and Trading Systems, and Player Analytics.
• Strong business acumen to understand industry challenges, regulatory complexity, and market dynamics, and to propose effective solutions.
• Knowledge of responsible gaming frameworks, AML requirements, and player protection mechanisms.
