Job Description:The Sound Technician is needed to work on the sound and assist with general AV needs at the newly renovated Media Arts Center, and at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center. We are looking to fill this position with (1) contract employee who will be expected to work on an as needed basis.

We are looking for an individual who possesses a full understanding of all areas of the sound field, as well as AV, including but not limited to:
- Experience using X32 Digital Mixer by Behringer.
- Experience using Black Magic Design software.
- Set up AV equipment before events and break down after. {Audio, video, jumbotron)
- Ability to read and follow AV system flow diagrams and support documentation
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot most AV equipment and systems.
- Experience working with audio equipment {wireless & wired microphones, mixing consoles, sound systems, speakerphones)
- Experience working with video equipment (Displays, projectors, jumbotron screens)
- Presentations (LCD projectors, screens, videos)
- AV Laptops/PC's (webcasts, video streaming, network connections)
- Event Productions range from large stage performances to smaller events (lighting, microphone placement, furniture configuration)
- Relocation of equipment from one building to another.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- Technical AV certifications such as CTS a plus
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Positive, professional image
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to operate related AV technologies required for the job, i.e. Town Hall events, conference room meetings, and basic set up/troubleshooting.
- Flexible hours.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- One year of experience working as a sound tech for productions and events.
- General knowledge of AV equipment.
- One year of customer service experience.
- Experience using X32 Digital Mixer by Behringer.
- Experience using Black Magic Design software.
- Bachelor's degree or trade school degree.
