Position: City Music Boston Studio A2 Engineer

Eligibility Requirements

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester.
  • This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
  • Federal Work Study student may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.
Responsibilities
  • Setting Up Test Sessions using understanding of the characteristics and capabilities of microphones, preamps, interfaces, audio equipment, and room acoustics to optimize the recording environment and get a pristine sound.
  • Assist and collaborate with video and marketing crew on set-up and aesthetics.
  • Routing Inputs into a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW).
  • Knowledge of audio signal flow and proficiency in using the Ableton Live digital audio workstations to route and manage audio signals.
  • Knowledge of the Dante platform and usage of a stage box for routing over ethernet and throughout the recording environment.
Experience, Education, and Skills
  • Experience using digital mixers and audio interfaces.
  • Some experience with using video and stream capture software (OBS, NEAR stream, Youtube).
  • Some experience posting or streaming musical performances to social media.
  • Ability to assemble and set up a/v gear independently.
  • Preferably a EPD, Film scoring, Music Business or MP&E major.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with a variety of people in an articulate, cordial and professional manner.
  • Ability to connect with youth and young adults from diverse backgrounds.
  • Superb customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience with live sound reinforcement.
Compensation

Hourly Rate: $17.51
