Summer Programs Accompanist

Accompanist Positions Available

Seven of the summer programs happening on campus this summer require accompanists on piano, bass, guitar, and drums. These accompanists will be hired as the "house band" to work in varied ensembles. Also available are positions in ensembles performing on other instruments depending on the needs of program directors.

Experience and Qualifications:

All accompanists must be able to sight-read lead sheets and rhythm section charts that have time slashes, chord progressions and additional rhythmic figures. Candidates must also be reliable, patient, cooperative and be open to taking direction or critique from the instructors/students. The students are prospective undergraduate students at Berklee and we expect them to be treated as you would other members of the community.

Seeking both upright and/or electric bassists.

What to expect in the ensemble?

You will be playing with a rhythm section, and the material will cover a wide variety of styles including, but not limited to, pop, rock, jazz, Latin, country, R&B, and funk.
