Job Overview

Berklee College of Music invites applications for a part‑time faculty position in the Electronic Production and Design Department. The position seeks a virtuosic electronic music performer with a recognized professional profile as a performing and recording artist and innovator to teach within Berklee’s Electronic Digital Instrument (EDI) principal instrument program and major. The successful candidate will have experience as a solo act or performer with international touring acts, a proven ability to help students achieve a significant level of musicianship virtuosity, and will contribute a shared vision for establishing a forward‑thinking pedagogy for electronic music players.

This part‑time faculty position will teach throughout the academic year with a renewable contract, starting September
2026.

• Teach private lessons and performance study labs.
• Direct ensembles with electronic and mixed instrumentation.
• Assess and advise students.

• Established electronic musician/performer with significant experience playing in clubs, concerts, festivals, and collaborating with major artists.
• Strong artist profile with international performance experience, having performed on stage with major artists.
• Virtuosic player on at least one controller with working knowledge of multiple controllers.
• Versatility across a variety of performance settings.
• Meaningful discography of recordings released and well received by the electronic music community.
• Expertise in music direction and conducting, with strong ability to lead ensembles.
• In‑depth understanding of a variety of musical genres, including current electronic sub‑genres.
• Expertise in developing electronic music performance setups and designing both hardware and software performance systems.
• Experience working with manufacturers to develop new and innovative performance tools.
• Expertise in contemporary music production techniques and tools.
• Ability to read and write music.
• Vision for establishing forward‑thinking pedagogy and practice techniques for electronic performers.
• Experience developing educational materials, instructional videos, practice materials, and new curriculum for modern electronic performers.
• Experience leading workshops and/or classroom teaching.
• Very strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to build consensus and contribute positively to a team‑oriented and diverse academic community.
• College degree and prior teaching experience highly desirable, along with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Commitment to being a good community member and working with students and colleagues from all backgrounds.

Hiring Range:
Part‑time Faculty as of 9/1/26: $66.96‑$138.00 per hour.
