Risk Manager/Analyst, Financial Analyst
We are seeking a seasoned reinsurance professional to support the structuring, execution, and operational management of captive and program reinsurance arrangements. In this role, you will represent the carrier side of transactions and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient administration of reinsurance programs.
Responsibilities- Lead operational oversight for captive and program reinsurance arrangements, including onboarding new programs and managing ongoing administration.
- Review and interpret reinsurance agreements to ensure proper implementation, system setup, and execution of treaty terms.
- Partner with underwriting, legal, finance, actuarial, and other internal teams to support transaction setup, program maintenance, and issue resolution.
- Coordinate with brokers, captive managers, reinsurers, and other external stakeholders to ensure smooth program execution and alignment on key requirements.
- Manage collateral processes, including calculating required amounts, verifying compliance with contract language, coordinating with Treasury, and maintaining accurate tracking within reinsurance accounting systems.
- Support regulatory examinations, audits, and external reviews by acting as a point of contact and providing required documentation or clarifications.
- Assist with the implementation and enhancement of reinsurance accounting systems.
- Participate in special projects, process improvements, and additional initiatives assigned by leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in reinsurance operations, with exposure to captive, fronting, or program-related structures.
- Strong knowledge of reinsurance concepts including quota share, excess of loss, and stop-loss treaties, as well as collateral requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and support mutually beneficial outcomes for diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and problem?solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Self-directed, proactive, and eager to take ownership of responsibilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
