Director – Family Office Management (Ultra-High-Net-Worth)

A well-established, fast-growing multi-family office and investment advisory platform is seeking a Director to join its Family Office Management Team. The firm supports a highly selective group of ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and family offices with complex financial, planning, and lifestyle needs.

This role is ideal for a senior family office professional who thrives in a high-touch, detail-oriented environment and enjoys acting as the central coordinator across multiple advisory disciplines.

Role Overview

The Director partners closely with senior leadership, investment teams, and service professionals to manage complex client relationships and deliver comprehensive family office solutions. The role is client-facing but primarily focused on coordination, oversight, and execution rather than investment decision-making.

The Family Office Management Team serves as the day-to-day support function for UHNW clients, handling financial administration, estate and tax coordination, portfolio administration, and broader family office and lifestyle needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for designated UHNW clients on non-investment matters
  • Coordinate across internal teams including service, portfolio advisory, and investment research
  • Oversee day-to-day family office functions such as:
  • Asset transfers and account administration
  • Trust, estate, and tax coordination
  • Portfolio and reporting administration
  • Private fund subscription processes
  • Cash management and liquidity planning
  • Support exceptionally wealthy families with holistic family office and lifestyle administration
  • Prepare for and support client meetings, presentations, and follow-up deliverables
  • Manage and prioritize workflow across multiple internal service queues and deadlines
  • Draft clear, client-ready communications regarding portfolio activity, planning actions, and administrative updates
  • Assist with new client onboarding, including coordination with custodians, trustees, and reporting platforms
  • Oversee annual and ad hoc tax reporting processes in partnership with internal and external teams
  • Contribute to internal management initiatives and participate in firm-wide planning discussions
Qualifications & Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in family office, wealth management, estate planning, and/or tax planning
  • Strong background working with ultra-high-net-worth clients and complex financial structures
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable rolling up sleeves and owning projects end-to-end
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to take direction from senior leadership
  • Willingness to support time-sensitive deadlines, including occasional evening or weekend work
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to client service excellence
  • Strong technology skills; experience with CRM, reporting platforms, and Excel required
Education & Credentials
  • Series 65 required (or equivalent)
  • Advanced certifications strongly preferred:
  • CFP
  • CPA
  • CFA
  • MBA, JD, LLM, or similar
Why This Role
  • Long-term career opportunity within a growing family office platform
  • Deep client relationships without sales or business development pressure
  • Exposure to highly complex, sophisticated UHNW client situations
  • Opportunity to become a trusted advisor within a tight-knit, high-performing team
