Job Title:
Oracle Fusion Financials Functional Lead / Finance Transformation Consultant

Location:
Boston, Massachusetts (Onsite)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Fusion Financials Functional professional to review and optimize an existing Oracle Fusion Finance landscape. This role partners closely with the Corporate Controller and client finance leadership to assess whether the current deployment is meeting evolving business needs, identify pain points, and define a clear, phased roadmap for improvement.

The role is hands‑on, consultative, and deeply embedded with the business — working side by side with finance stakeholders to drive tangible outcomes, improve controls, streamline processes, and introduce Oracle best practices aligned to a growing and changing business.

Key Responsibilities Landscape Review & Assessment
  • Perform a comprehensive review of the current Oracle Fusion Financials deployment, configuration, and usage.
  • Assess whether the solution is operating as designed and supports current and future business requirements.
  • Identify functional gaps, inefficiencies, manual workarounds, control weaknesses, and scalability concerns.
  • Evaluate integrations, close processes, reporting, and data dependencies impacting finance operations.
Business Partnership & Advisory
  • Work closely with the Corporate Controller, finance leadership, and accounting teams as trusted advisors.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business model, operating structure, growth plans, and finance challenges.
  • Translate business needs into functional solutions, configuration changes, and process improvements.
  • Challenge existing practices constructively and recommend improvements aligned with industry standards.
Roadmap & Improvement Planning
  • Define and document key pain areas across core finance processes.
  • Create a note-level and multi-phase improvement roadmap covering quick wins, medium-term enhancements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Prioritize improvements based on business impact, risk, compliance, and effort.
  • Support business case development and value articulation for proposed enhancements.
Hands‑On Functional Leadership
  • Configure, test, and validate Oracle Fusion Financials changes hands‑on as required.
  • Work side by side with finance users during design, testing, and adoption.
  • Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes as needed.
  • Partner with technical teams to ensure functional intent is correctly implemented.
Oracle Best Practices & Governance
  • Bring in Oracle best practices across core finance modules and ensure alignment with Oracle‑recommended design patterns.
  • Improve controls, auditability, and compliance within the system.
  • Ensure the solution remains scalable, supportable, and aligned with Oracle’s product roadmap.
