Financial Analyst

CFS has partnered with a mission-driven nonprofit in search of a Financial Analyst to join their team.

Big Picture

This is a high-impact Financial Analyst role supporting the Boston Symphony Orchestra, with a strong focus on building financial models from the ground up. Working under the Director of FP&A – tag teaming the financial modeling.

It’s a great fit for someone who loves Excel, analytics, and creating structure where it doesn’t yet exist.

What You’d Be Working On

• Build foundational and budget models from scratch
• Create robust Excel models to support financial planning and decision-making
• Heavy focus on payroll-related modeling

• Input and manage financial data in Adaptive Insights ERP
• Support the annual budget process with clean, reliable models

• The orchestra is unionized and entering a negotiation cycle
• Your role is not negotiating, but building Excel models that help leadership understand scenarios and options
• Create “what-if” models to help guide negotiation strategy

Must-Have Skills

• Someone confident building things from the ground up
• Very strong excel skills (xlookups, clean financial model structure, logical formulas)
• Experience building financial models from scratch
• Comfortable working without a lot of existing templates
• Someone who wants to impact real-world decisions in a unique, mission-driven organization

This role’s hours are 9-5, Monday-Friday.

4-5 days on-site while getting up to speed, then 3 days on-site.

Salary: $93,600-$104,000
