This role supports the firm’s attorneys by helping manage and recover outstanding receivables while promoting proactive credit and collection practices. The individual will collaborate closely with the Director of Collections to oversee account activity, reduce delinquency risk, and ensure consistent follow-up. Building and maintaining strong client relationships is an important component of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with attorneys to address past-due accounts and assist in recovery efforts.
- Generate and analyze monthly reporting related to collections activity and aging trends.
- Compile and organize documentation needed to support collection initiatives.
- Establish productive working relationships with assigned billing attorneys to help monitor and manage their portfolios effectively.
- In coordination with senior collections leadership, communicate with clients regarding overdue balances, initiate collection outreach, and arrange payment solutions, including negotiated settlements when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date collection records and tracking systems.
- Take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed to support the department.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in accounts receivable or collections within a professional services setting; prior law firm experience is strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational abilities with strong attention to detail.
