Join a prestigious Boston-based global asset manager (a key subsidiary of a leading Tier-1 Investment Bank
) as a Senior Fund Accountant within the Fund Administration group. This role is central to the oversight of approximately 180 registered investment companies, including mutual funds and private investment vehicles.
We are looking for a seasoned professional with deep roots in the Boston financial services ecosystem—specifically those with a strong foundation from major custody and administration firms
—to manage the precision and compliance of our fund operations.
- Operational Oversight: Act as the primary lead in overseeing third-party fund accounting and custodian providers to ensure strict adherence to service level agreements.
- Financial Administration: Monitor the creation and analysis of expense budgets; prepare, review, and validate fund accruals and payments.
- Reporting & Compliance: Facilitate the preparation of Board materials and assist in the monthly review of regulatory filings (N-PORT, N-CEN).
- Strategic Analysis: Perform benchmark analysis of Fund NAVs, yields, and distribution rates; review complex securities and derivatives for proper accounting treatment.
- Internal Liaison: Coordinate across Legal, Investment Operations, Performance & Analytics, and Portfolio Management teams.
- Team Leadership: Supervise staff and ensure all reporting remains consistent, accurate, and compliant with GAAP, the Investment Company Act of 1940, and Regulation S‑X.
- Tenure: 5–7 years of experience in Fund Accounting or Administration.
- Background: Previous experience at a major Global Custodian or Boston-based clearing house is highly preferred.
- Core Competencies: Must have hands‑on experience with NAV calculation and Mutual Fund operations
. - Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with the Internal Revenue Code and regulatory disclosure requirements.
- Soft Skills: Strong aptitude for detail, ability to research/remediate errors, and a collaborative mindset for a fast‑paced team environment.
