Company Overview

A prestigious law firm founded in 1899 and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, specializes in servicing national and international clients across strategic practice areas. They are seeking an Estate Advisor to manage the administration of assigned estates in accordance with firm policies.

• Estimate value of all assets of the estate, debts of the decedent, costs of administration, and estate taxes to determine cash needs.
• Collect all assets of the decedent and arrange payment of debts, estate taxes, income taxes, and other expenses.
• Prepare federal, Massachusetts, and other state estate tax returns.
• Participate in federal and/or state estate tax audits with the responsible attorney.
• Arrange for the distribution of estate assets and originate trust-funding plans.
• Prepare and file all probate forms and accountings with the applicable Registry of Probate.
• Consult with the responsible attorney to ensure all procedural deadlines are met.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and related advisors.
• Participate in training and development initiatives.
• Maintain complete files for each assigned estate.
• Report status and issues relating to estate administration to the Trustee and/or Department Manager.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field required or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of estate settlement experience.
• Proficient use of various software packages, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of SE2 Trust Accounting System or similar, SEI/SWP, GEMS, Trust Ease, CCH Pro System FX, Zane Software, CCH View Plan, ZCalc, or similar systems is beneficial.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.

Salary: $125,000 – $135,000
