Finance Manager

Motional’s global headquarters are located at 100 Northern Avenue in Boston, MA. Nestled in the bustling Seaport district with sweeping views of Boston Harbor and downtown Boston, the office is located close to major transit lines and a quick walk to various restaurants and popular attractions.

We are seeking a self‑motivated, detail‑oriented Finance Manager to join our team at Motional in support of making driverless vehicles a safe, reliable, and accessible reality. As a Finance Manager, you will play a key cross‑functional role working in a fast‑paced environment, collaborating with various departments, ensuring accurate financial modeling and delivering actionable recommendations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to dive into the emerging autonomous vehicle industry and contribute to our Company’s success by providing critical financial analysis and insights.

• Be a trusted financial advisor to the business as business partner to analyze, plan, and forecast department and functional level financials
• Develop and maintain financial forecasts and budgets; prepare ad‑hoc financial reports and analysis
• Analyze financial outcomes and provide actionable insights supporting strategic initiatives, cost optimization, and investment opportunities
• Collaborate across the organization and deployment teams to improve accuracy on operating expense fore castings
• Engage in cross‑functional projects with stakeholders from Corporate Strategy, Product, Engineering, HR and Operations
• Prepare and assist in presenting findings to key stakeholders including the Finance leadership team. Understand business decisions and limitations based on budget.
• Supporting the FP&A teams by performing data analysis, building reports, maintaining and administering financial systems

• Bachelor’s Degree in finance, economics, or another related field
• MBA is a plus
• 3‑5 years professional experience
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling, including the ability to build complex financial models and perform scenario analysis
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and comfort working with large sets of data
• Excellent communication skills and self‑starter, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to both financial and non‑financial stakeholders
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment with multiple stakeholders
• Familiarity with the automotive or mobility industry in a “startup environment” is beneficial
• Experience with Alteryx or comparable business intelligence and analytics tools is a plus
• Experience with Vena Solutions or comparable FP&A tools is a plus

• On the FP&A team, you’ll play a direct role in shaping the future of autonomous vehicles in our cities while developing groundbreaking business models in a transformative field.

This role is hybrid from our Boston office. It requires two in‑office days each week, ideally Tuesday and Thursday.

Salary Range: $109,000 — $142,000 USD
